Trump is all id

A quote from former GOP Congressman David Jolly, on MSNBC: “We know Donald Trump is intimidated by people whose stature he can never achieve. He attacks the NFL because they wouldn’t let him in their ownership group. He attacks the media because they have a trustworthiness that goes far beyond what he can ever have. He attacks prosecutors and Robert Mueller because there is finality and permanence in their work that far exceeds his fledgling and at times questionable real estate empire.

“Donald Trump simply doesn’t have the ability to obtain the heroism, dignity and honor that we remember the former Arizona senator for. No amount of Fred Trump’s money can buy for this man-child of a president the honor and integrity of John McCain.

“And in Freudian terms, it is all id for this president. It is juvenile, it is reflective, it is mean; there is no ego or alter ego to balance it. But if you extrapolate it out, it does raise the security questions that Hillary Clinton warned us of. That this man is temperamentally unfit to be commander in chief; that he can be baited with a tweet by the husband of one of his senior advisers, cannot be trusted with the nuclear codes.”

Republicans like David Jolly have boldly spoken out against the perilous foolery of Donald Trump. Unfortunately, his cohorts in Congress with the power to tone down Trump’s divisive and juvenile behavior have not dared to. For them, protecting their re-election by not angering Trump’s base is more important than protecting America. But who in their right mind wants to re-elect a spineless congressman to represent them? Hoo-boy.

What Mr. Jolly and others see is not obscure, it’s

not hidden; it’s out there in plain sight. Why a majority of Republicans pretend to not see what others can plainly see is mind boggling. If Obama had done a fraction of what Trump has been getting away with, they would’ve impeached him immediately.

Perhaps it’s difficult for the GOP to correct Trump’s pernicious behavior because they’ve been conned into believing he’s a Republican. If so, then perhaps the GOP should pretend that Trump is a Russian Democrat!

Protecting America’s democracy and Constitution from our enemies takes whatever it takes. It’s your job! Ya basta! Just do it!

LNG plants will pollute

There have appeared full-length ads about liquefied natural gas, stating that there will be no smokestacks at the proposed plants because they plan to take electricity from the grid. Do not be deceived by this statement.

They definitely will use plenty of electricity to cool and compress the natural gas to liquefy it. The pollution will be at the electric energy production plants somewhere else in Texas.

Because electricity is only about 60 percent deliverable it actually would be 40 percent better to generate it at the LNG plant itself. It all depends where the pollution results: at the site of generation.

There will still be plenty of pollution at the LNG site as the sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxides are removed from the gas.
