The National Weather Service says a strong thunderstorm is sitting over Rancho Veijo and not moving.

The winds could get as high as 40 mph within the storm.

Areas impacted by the rain include Rancho Viejo, Olmito, Brownsville, La Encantada Elementary School, Brownsville Fire Department Station Seven, Olmito Lake, Valley Regional Medical Center, Rancho Viejo City Hall, Keller Elementary and Brownsville Sports Park.

The heavy storms could cause street flooding in some neighborhoods.
