Showers and thunderstorms are possible Wednesday in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Brownsville. There is a 40 to 60% chance for rain across the Valley. The rain could be heavy at times and cause minor flooding, according to the NWS.

Wednesday will see partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. Today’s highs include 94 in Brownsville, 95 in McAllen and 85 in South Padre Island.

Looking ahead, expect hotter, breezier and more humid conditions by the weekend. Heat indices or “feels like” temperatures are expected to peak each afternoon between 106 to 113 degrees from Saturday through the start of next week.
