The Brownsville Scholars Program was unveiled today when Brownsville native Mike Hernandez III and his wife Kelly donated $1,070,000 to the Texas A&M Foundation.

The money will be given annually to 10 Brownsville area students who will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, are Regents' Scholarship recipients and have a financial need.

Each student was also presented with a brand new laptop.

For more on the story read Friday's Brownsville Herald.
