The Cameron County District Attorney’s office on Friday released the preliminary autopsy report of a woman whose body was discovered alongside that of her slain son last month at a home in Brownsville.

According to the preliminary report, Diana Ramos Pierce, 45, suffered three fatal gunshot wounds to the head. On Friday, officials from the DA’s office did not release the preliminary autopsy report for her slain 4-year-old son, William Pierce.

Both bodies were discovered Sept. 19 on the 2600 block of Frankfort Street after authorities were called to investigate a foul odor at the residence.

That evening, officers arrested 41-year-old Donald Edward Pierce — Diana’s husband and William’s father — who police said fled after he approached the home and noticed officers there. Pierce was apprehended minutes later at the 2300 block of Hamburg Street.

Pierce was arraigned Sept. 20 at the Brownsville City Jail on two counts of capital murder, evading arrest with a motor vehicle and evading arrest on foot. He is being held at the Carrizalez-RuckerDetentionCenter on a no bond.
