Veterans Memorial wins College Success Award

For the second consecutive year, Veterans Memorial Early College High School has won the College Success Award from the national nonprofit GreatSchools.org for making sure students prepare for college and achive success once they get there.

Veterans Memorial is among 2,158 schools in 29 states to receive the award. GreatSchools.org tracks schools across the country and rates them based on state academic achievement data. The organization notified the Brownsville Independent School District and Veterans Memorial Principal Linda Gallegos that her school had again won the award in an email last week.

Gallegos said the award demonstrates the committment of faculty and staff at the school to prepare students for academic and lifelong success after high school.

“This award speaks volumes to all their hard work and dedication, to the long hours they put in to provide a quality and rigorous instruction to our students,” she said.
