BPUB employee tested positive for COVID-19

The Brownsville Public Utility Board says another employee has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The employees test results were confirmed on Monday, Aug. 10, and officials say the person was last at a BPUB facility Wednesday, Aug. 5.

In a news release, BPUB says several actions have already been taken as a precautionary measure, including:

· A deep cleaning of the employee’s work areas

· A deep cleaning of common areas

· Working with city and county health officials

BPUB will continue to follow CDC guidelines for workplace safety, require employees to use facial coverings, promote good hygiene practices and share health, safety and travel guidelines with all employees.
