Scorpions swept in final doubleheader of regular season
The University of Houston-Victoria used a come-from-behind rally in the first game and home run power in the second game to sweep a doubleheader from the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College 7-6 and 9-4 on Sunday at Scorpion Field.
UTB-TSC (26-29, 9-3 Red River Athletic Conference) completed a record 55-game regular season with a record 37 home games.
The Scorpions qualified for the RRAC Tournament, which begins Friday at QuikTrip Park, home of the Grand Prairie Air Hogs in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
UTB-TSC coach Bryan Aughney hopes to find out Monday what seed the Scorpions will receive for the six-team tournament. Three teams from the North and South Zone will be invited.
