Texans put McKinney, Killings on IR, sign Anderson, Dreessen
Comments 0 | Recommend 0HOUSTON (AP) _ The Houston Texans placed center Steve McKinney and defensive tackle Cedric Killings on injured reserve, ending their seasons, and signed David Anderson and Joel Dreessen on Tuesday.
Killings remains hospitalized as he recovers from a fracture of his C-4 vertebra from a headfirst collision with Indianapolis receiver Roy Hall on Sunday.
McKinney tore his left anterior cruciate ligament against the Colts.
The Texans signed Anderson and Dreessen to add depth at receiver with Andre Johnson and rookie Jacoby Jones out with injuries. Jones is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a separated shoulder and Johnson is out indefinitely with a knee sprain.
Anderson, a seventh-round draft pick by Houston in 2006, was released Aug. 31. He appeared in nine games last season with one reception for 27 yards. Dreessen, a tight end, was released Sept. 14 when the Texans re-signed Killings.
