Perales goes for pro win No.3 tonight at Jacob Brown

Sergio Perales returns to Jacob Brown Auditorium tonight looking for his third professional boxing victory in the main event of Marines Promotions' Spring Break Border Town Brawl.
The scheduled six-fight card begins at 7:30, according to promoter Julio Marines. Doors open at 6 p.m., he said. Tickets cost $20 and up.
Both of Perales' previous pro fights took place at Jacob Brown.
Perales, a Brownsville native and 2006 graduate of Los Fresnos High School, made his pro debut last Nov. 30 and stopped Pedro Silva at the 1:12 mark of the opening round. In his second pro fight on Feb. 1, Perales floored Richard "Angelito" Flores at the 2:26 mark of the first round.
Next up for the left-handed, 118-pound Perales (2-0, 2 knockouts) is a scheduled four-rounder tonight against Genaro Castorena (1-1) of Laredo.
Perales, a bantamweight who as an amateur reached the final four of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team Trials in Houston last summer, is 5-foot-5. According to reports, Castorena is 5-9 or 5-10.
The height disparity shouldn't matter, Perales said.
"I've fought taller guys before," he said. "Anything he throws at me, I'm ready for it. I haven't heard much about him, although I did hear that he was tall, but it makes no difference. I'm out there to do one thing, and that's to bring home a victory.
"I'm not looking for a knockout, but if the opportunity presents itself, I'm going to take it," he added. "I'm just going out there ready and prepared, and ready to put on a show. It definitely feels good when I go out to the ring and see all the people there, showing me support. I appreciate that and I thank God for the opportunity that I've been presented with (to do well in boxing)."
Robert Campos has been with Perales as a coach and trainer for approximately a decade. One of the most important things he always emphasizes is to never be overconfident against an opponent.
"Sergio is very coachable, we always make adjustments in fights like this, and we stick together," Cam-pos said. "I'm not worried because we've fought guys just as tall or taller, but even like that, we're not taking this guy lightly. I don't care about his record. A fight is a fight, and anything can happen.
"Sergio's learning and improving little by little with each pro fight," Campos added. "With every pro fight, we're learning something. That's the good thing about it."
All of the fights on tonight's card are scheduled four-rounders.
On the undercard, in a matchup of 165-pounders, Raul "El Tigre" Casarez (10-2) of Edinburg will go against Juan "HEB" Ruiz (3-3) of Alamo. In another clash of 165-pounders, Terrance Anderson (1-1) of San Antonio faces Norberto Flores (pro debut) of Reynosa who fights out of San Juan.
Also on the undercard, 140-pounders Tito Ramos (5-0) of Edinburg and Ramiro Torres (8-5) of San An-tonio will battle along with 138-pounders Tomas Peña (3-0) of Kingsville and Ricardo Gutierrez (pro de-but) of Pharr.
In the other fight on the undercard, Angela Purcell (pro debut) of La Feria will go against Judy Garcia (1-1) of Victoria, Texas. It will be a matchup of 155-pounders.
