Historic Brownsville Open Diary: Cano happy to be back in Texas
Hello, everyone!
My name is Christi Cano, a Duramed FUTURES Tour player from just up the road in San Antonio. I am excited to be back in Brownsville and playing in my home state.
I will be writing a daily blog for you to get a players perspective of typical tournament week on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. Well, I had a leisurely drive of only 4.5 hours down here, much better than the 22 hours to Florida for our first few events. Yesterday I had my 1st practice round of the week at El Diablo. The rain has definitely helped the golf courses. Texas droughts are not kind to our golf courses, so this rain we’ve had has been a nice change.
It was a little bit of unfamiliar territory playing El Diablo yesterday with no wind, but I’m sure that will change later on in the week. It’s TEXAS!
We had a great welcome party at Cobbleheads Bar & Grill last night with some great food, music and MARGARITAS! Thank you to the sponsors who helped organize that for us.
