Bravos add athletic trainer, public address announcer
BROWNSVILLE — The Rio Grande Valley Bravos have added two new members to their staff, hiring John Prosek as athletic trainer and Sam Daily as public address announcer.
“The Bravos are proud to welcome Daily and Prosek to the organization,” Bravos owner Kru Kayan Sitsanthaparn said. “Both bring lots of experience that will add to our staff and bring success to the franchise.”
“The addition of Daily and Prosek further demonstrates our philosophy to be progressive and innovative in the hopes of becoming one of the premiere franchises in the United Soccer League. “
Prosek, the head athletic trainer at Porter, brings a wealth of experience to the table. After graduating with a bachelors of science in education in 1994 from the University of Akron, Prosek got his first job with a physical therapy center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and eventually earned a masters degree in exercise and science from the University of Toledo in 1997.
After receiving his masters, Prosek took a job with Baptist St. Anthony’s in Amarillo and eventually made the move to HealthSouth in Houston.
Prosek is no stranger to working pro sports, as he had stints with the Amarillo Gorillas hockey team, and the Amarillo Dillas and Rio Grande WhiteWings baseball teams.
Daily also brings quite an impressive resumè to the table. As stand-up comedian for more than 25 years, Daily has appeared all over the country and toured with the likes of Sam Kinison, Chris Farley, Tim Allen and opened for Jay Leno and Joe Piscopo on South Padre Island in 1987. Daily also does over 100 impersonations, stemming from Sponge Bob Square Pants to President Barack Obama.
Back in the day, Daily worked as a disc jockey for B104 and was the morning show host for KRIX and has emceed various events all over the Rio Grande Valley, including Borderfest in 2010.
