Mid-Valley water service disrupted

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Water service in the Mid-Valley has totally been disrupted said George Garrett, emergency management coordinatorfor Weslaco and Donna.

Water treatment facilities do not have power and cannot process the water. Additionally, there are breaks in water pipelines, but because those lines are underwater, crews cannot find the breaks.

Right now state officials are distributing water in the Mid-Valley.

Garrett said it could take up to two weeks to fully restore water service. Mid-Valley residents who can even get water out of their faucets are urged to boil it before using it. Garrett urged Mid-Valley residents to only drink bottled water.
