Valley soldier's body back in U.S., vigil scheduled
Comments 0 | Recommend 0MISSION - Spc. Joe Rubio's body was returned to the United States around 10 p.m. Tuesday night and should arrive in McAllen within the next four days, family members said.
Funeral arrangements for Rubio have not been finalized, but a public candlelight vigil and flag raising in honor of the 24-year-old, who was killed Sunday night in Iraq, is set for Friday.
The vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the City Flower Shop on the corner of Conway Avenue and First Street.
