PHARR - A grapefruit truck spilled its load Tuesday evening at the turnaround underneath Interstate 69C/Expressway 281 at Nolana Loop.

No one was injured, and no other vehicles were involved.

Pharr Deputy Fire Chief Eloy Salazar estimated 10,000 pounds of produce was lost in the wreck.

The driver had been driving south along the expressway frontage road and had attempted to circle north underneath the expressway at the Nolana loop exit when it turned over.

The truck also leaked around 50 gallons of diesel fuel, requiring the fire department to apply an absorbent to the road.
