MARIA O. RUIZ, 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Valley Baptist Medical CenterBrownsville. There will be no local services. Funeral services will be held at Funerarias El Rosario in Matamoros. Local arrangements are under the direction of Delta Funeral Directors.
JUAN R. PANTOJA
Juan R. Pantoja entered into eternal life May 11, 2009. He was a native of Pearland, Texas and a longtime Brownsville resident.
He worked for Hunt Pan-Am for several years and was owner of Aero Americana. He was a member of the choir at San Eugenio de Jesus Catholic Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Francisco Javier Pantoja.
He is survived by his wife, Rosita H. Pantoja; daughters, Armandina Pantoja, Angelica (Ronald) Peterson, and Lourdes (Chris) Kishore; grandchildren, Silvia (Juan Jose Garcia) Solis, Sebastian Kishore, Alexis Peterson, Nicholas Peterson, Eduardo Pantoja, Grecia Pantoja, Linda E. Pantoja and Mayra Zavala.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow to Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Peterson, Chris Kishore, Juan Garcia, Juan Salinas, Miguel Salinas, Juan Roberto Dominguez.

ROBERT EARL ALBERS
Robert Earl Albers, 87, of Brownsville, Texas died at his home Friday, May 8, 2009.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on Jan. 31, 1922. After graduating from high school in Charleston, Ill., he attended Western Illinois University for two years.
Then, in 1943 he volunteered to serve in the U. S. Navy. While in the Navy he was in tower school in Corpus Christi, Texas.
In 1944 he married Bette Sherrick, whom he had met while in college. When he was discharged from the Navy, he became an air traffic controller. He worked at Bunker Hill, Ind.; St. Louis, Mo., Wake Island, and Honolulu, Hawaii.
In 1974 he retired from the FAA and moved to Brownsville, Texas largely because he had liked South Texas while in tower school.
In 2004, his wife Bette passed away. On May 13, 2008, he married Mayra Lizeth Del Angel of Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico.
Mr. Albers is survived by his wife, Mayra, and four daughters, Ann Kelly of Bend, Oregon, Juanita Steiger of Nashville, Tenn., Rebecca Darling of Greenup, Ill., and Elaine Albers of Stockton, Calif. Also surviving are five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Albers will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. A memorial open house will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, May 16, at his home at 4907 Southmost Road, Brownsville.
