CBP: Gun trafficker extradited from Mexico to U.S.
An alleged arms trafficker was extradited by federal authorities Tuesday morning at the B&M International Bridge.
At approximately 11 a.m. Mexican authorities arrived at the port of entry with 21-year-old Donovan Beavers and handed him over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, the agency said in a press release.
Beavers is wanted for the charge of dealing weapons without a license by the U.S. Marshals Service in Arlington, Va. and was known to be hiding in Matamoros, CBP said.
After processing, the suspect was handed over to local U.S. Marshals who transported him to the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito.
