Additional tornadoes reported around Brownsville

UPDATE: At least three tornados had touched down in the Rio Grande Valley as of 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday, and several other funnel clouds had been sighted, according to the National Weather Service.

Two tornados hit Brownsville and Port Isabel in the morning, including a twister that did damaged a trailer and destroyed an Avant water dispensing station.

A third tornado touched down five miles north of Raymondville.

The Brownsville twister hit sometime around 11 a.m. in the 6800 block of Military Highway, police spokesman Eddie Garcia confirmed.

The tornado tipped a trailer sideways, but no injuries were reported.

Nearby the Avant water dispensing station located in front of German Chocolate Inc. coffeeshop was destroyed.

High winds are also being blamed for toppling a fireworks stand onto a portable toilet off of FM 511 and Expressway 77/83.
