Time Warner Cable offers free calls to Haiti
McALLEN - All calls to Haiti on Time Warner Cable's digital phone service will be free through the end of February, the company announced this week.
The discount also will be applied retroactively to all calls made to the island nation since Jan. 12, the date of the devastating earthquake, the company said in a news release. All Time Warner Cable customers are eligible, including those who sign up for service during the program, said Sabrina Heins, a local spokeswoman for the cable provider.
Customers who already have paid for calls to Haiti that are covered by the promotion will receive a credit from the company. Calls to operators or directory assistance will not be covered, according to the release.
