Three Romanians charged with illegal entry
U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested three Romanians Saturday after they waded across the Rio Grande into the United States, according to court records.
The apparently undocumented immigrants were charged with illegal entry to the United States.
The federal court record regarding the arrest of Elena Ploesteanca Lapadat, Rica Dunca and Florin Rica Dunca does not give the location of their arrest.
The three pleaded not guilty Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ronald G. Morgan, according to the court record. Counsel has been appointed for them.
A Romanian interpreter, Maria Stefan, interpreted for the three defendants telephonically.
The three are being held without bail, and their trials are set for July 7 before Morgan.
