The Department of Public Safety on Wednesday identified the fatalities as 27-year-old Efrain Dominguez-Valenzuela of Brownsville and 62-year-old Christina Lozano Campos of Lewisville.

Calls from The Associated Press about other injured riders, transported to Wilford Hall Medical Center, Brooke Army Medical Center and South Texas Regional Medical Center, were not immediately returned Wednesday
The bus was being driving by a woman with a Brownsville address, officials said.
The driver, Irma Morado, was not injured in the bus crash, according to Tom Vinger, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.
"The passengers and the bus driver described hearing a loud noise prior to the wreck," Vinger said. "We’re investigating whether some kind of mechanical malfunction may have occurred."
Morado does not face criminal charges at this point, said Vinger, who added that the investigation is ongoing.
The Americanos USA bus had left San Antonio and was headed for Matamoros, with stops scheduled in Falfurrias, McAllen and Brownsville.
