CBP: Tenn. man wanted for child porn arrested at Brownsville bridge
Two weeks after the FBI issued an arrest warrant for a Tennessee man wanted on child pornography charges, the man was captured at a Brownsville international bridge.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested John Christopher Hargrove, 58, of Pegram, Tenn., at the Veteran's International Bridge on Thursday as he was returning from Mexico.
During a secondary inspection CBP officers learned Hargrove was wanted by the FBI out of Memphis on an outstanding warrant issued Nov. 6. The charges include possession of child pornography, sexual exploitation of a minor and transportation of pornographic materials.
"CBP officers working together with the FBI have apprehended this wanted fugitive. The use of a CBP database assisted CBP officers with the quick execution of this warrant and the subsequent arrest of the subject," said Michael Freeman, CBP Port Director, Brownsville Port of Entry.
Hargrove was turned over to the Cameron County Sheriff's department. He is being held in custody pending extradition to Memphis.
