DONNA — Police arrested a second man suspected in a fatal shooting this month outside a Weslaco bar.
Weslaco police arrested Alvin Perez, 20, during one of two raids Friday in Donna.
Several people detained were released after the raids, except for Perez, who is suspected of participating in a fight and leaving with three other men after the fatal shooting outside Tequila Charly’s Bar and Grill, 318 W. Pike Blvd., said Weslaco police spokesman David Molina.
The fight in the bar’s parking lot Nov. 11 left Michael Anthony Sanchez with a fatal gunshot to the head. The 28-year-old died in the parking lot while emergency crews attempted to treat him, police said.
Authorities also found 51 pounds of marijuana with Perez during one of the raids on Friday.
Perez was arraigned Saturday in Weslaco Municipal Court on murder and felony possession of marijuana charges. A municipal judge set his bond at $1.25 million on the two charges.
Police also arrested Homero Reyes last week in connection with the Sanchez murder.
Authorities continue to look for brothers Fernando and Omar Reyes, who are cousins of Homero Reyes. Police have said Fernando Reyes is the suspected gunman in the Sanchez’s murder.
Several local law enforcement agencies raided houses at 2706 Tasha and 508 Apollo Circle in Donna on Friday. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the San Juan Police SWAT team assisted Weslaco police during the searches.
