Police arrested a 13-year-old boy Monday afternoon for allegedly stabbing his 17-year-old brother after the two got into an argument over who would use the family's PlayStation.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., police officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 900 block of East Monroe Street after the mother of the teens called police to report the two boys fighting, police Sgt. Carlos A. Zamorano said.

The 13-year-old boy put a knife to the 17-year-old boy's throat, he said, but the 17-year-old was then stabbed on his right hand.

"He didn't have major injuries," Zamorano said. "He is going to be treated, probably stitched up."

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene to treat the older sibling, who was scared.

The 13-year-old was arrested on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the Darrell B. Hester Juvenile Justice Center.

Zamorano said the 13-year-old has a criminal record, and has been arrested in the past.

"He's got a history," he said.
