Brrr!ownsville
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Rains arrive with weekend cold front
Friday's rains that accompanied a cold front will continue to be present through the weekend, said forecasters.
Tim Speece, meteorologist for the National Weather Service, said the weekend looks to be cool with the possibility of rain and showers.
Despite a chilly morning (today), CQ Speece said the temperature will gradually climb up to the 70s and wind gusts will diminish to 10 miles an hour.
"The entire weekend will be a bit cloudy," he said. "(Today) CQ we have a chance for showers and the lows are in the low 60s, high 50s."
For Sunday, the forecaster predicted low winds ranging from 10-15 miles per hour and temperatures ranging from lows in the 60s to highs of 80s.
"We're not expecting any freezes or severe weather in Brownsville or the RGV for that matter," Speece said. "It will be jacket weather as far as we are concerned, there's not much worry about very cold temperatures."
He said the temperature will creep up slowly through the coming week reaching highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s all the way until Thanksgiving when a few showers are expected.
The forecaster said the next cold front will probably enter the Valley towards the end of the month.
"We have the potential to get a little cold front around Nov 30th,"Speece said. "It's going to be a small one, similar to this last one. A little cooler, but without any freezes or harsh weather."
