No sandbags being given out yet by city

The city of Brownsville is not handing out sandbags at the present, according to Mayor Pat M. Ahumada Jr.

“Do not call for sand bags at this time,” Ahumada said, noting that the city’s emergency management team is monitoring the situation with Tropical Storm Alex that could intensify into a hurricane.

“We ask that citizens not over react and panic, but just to simply prepare for hurricane weather,” Ahumada said.

“At this point, we are all being watchful and will respond accordingly,” he added.
