McAllen man pleads guilty to child pornography charges

McALLEN - A McAllen man has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in district court, and he could face decades in prison.

Jack Arnold Heflin, 30, pleaded guilty to three counts of child pornography promotion and a single count of child pornography posssession before the 139th District Court yesterday.

Heflin, who was arrested March 17, will be sentenced at a later date.

Investigators found about 20 child pornography images and videos on Heflin's computer and discovered he was sharing them via a file-sharing Web site, according to the Attorney General's office.

Possession of child pornography is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in state prison and a fine of $10,000. Promotion of child pornography is a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in state prison and a fine of $10,000.
