Police arrested a Brownsville man and a minor Friday for allegedly striking a man with a metal crowbar and stealing his wallet.
Police Sgt. Juan Lopez said Roberto Jay Gutierrez and the male juvenile were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. The report stated that the suspects and the unidentified victim were at the victim's house in the 2100 block of San Marcelo Blvd. for a late night party.
According to the report, the two suspects assaulted the homeowner after 3 a.m. and struck him on the head with a metal crowbar, took his wallet and fled. The victim was able to identify the suspects to police who were able to detain them shortly after.
Teen falls through roof
Police reports show that a male teenager was injured after falling from the roof of a warehouse at 100 S. Vermillion St.
Officers arrived at the location Wednesday morning and found a 16-year-old male with head injuries, according to a police press release. The victim said he was doing maintenance work on the roof and fell through an open section. He was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center with minor injuries.
