Deputies: Couple in their 80s found dead in apparent murder-suicide

DONNA -- A husband and wife in their 80s were found dead at a recreational vehicle park Monday, in what authorities are calling an apparent murder-suicide.
The couple – whose names have not yet been released – both died of gunshot wounds, said Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino. Investigators believe the man’s to be self-inflicted.
A property manager at the Palm Shadows RV park along Val Verde Road found the couple earlier today while checking in on their welfare, deputies said.
Nearby residents said they did not know the couple well but believed the man had some type of terminal illness.
