Missing McAllen woman located two weeks after disappearance
McALLEN — Police have located Crystal Sanchez, the 20-year-old McAllen woman whose family reported her missing since Dec. 12.
Investigators determined Sanchez, who missed Christmas with her family, was safe and did not want to return to the North McAllen home where she had been living with her parents.
Despite that assurance from police, however, her parents don’t believe their daughter is safe, they said. Frank and Diana Sanchez spoke briefly to her Monday night but have not seen her. The couple had distributed and posted missing-person fliers around town and received calls from the public reporting that their daughter was seen roaming 32nd Street.
“They told us that she is wearing the same clothes (she was last seen wearing prior to her disappearance),” Frank Sanchez said. “(They said that) she looks drugged-up and dirty.”
The parents want to see their daughter and try to help her.
When they talked to her Monday night, Crystal Sanchez began cursing at them, Frank Sanchez said.
“It’s not like her,” he said. “She loves her mother.”
The young woman has a tattoo on her right wrist of a heart with a ribbon and her mother’s initials, D.B.S.
The parents want more information about their daughter’s whereabouts, they said, but police said they could not give them that information because she is an adult.
“But how do I know if she is not being drugged against her will?” the woman’s mother said in Spanish.
