Sheriff searching for Brownsville murder suspect
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EL RANCHITO - A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death Tuesday in what investigators are describing as a "crime of passion," officials said.
Francisco Losoya died while emergency responders transported him to the hospital after being stabbed in front of a home on Nicho Esparza Road in El Ranchito about 8 p.m., Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said.
El Ranchito is a small community off Highway 281 west of Olmito, Lucio said.
"The ex-husband came to the house and apparently this young man was visiting there, and he was stabbed several times by the ex-husband," Lucio said.
Lucio said the suspect is a 24-year-old Brownsville resident, but declined to release a name until an arrest warrant was issued for him.
"At the present time we do know the name of the suspect and we will continue to search for him," Lucio said.
