Antonio (Tony) Oliveira, brother of State Representative René O. Oliveira, died overnight of an apparent heart attack. He was 53.

"Tony was an amazing brother, loving husband, and devoted father. He worked countless hours with kids in Brownsville on a variety of athletic teams and other charitable endeavors," said Rep. Oliveira. "He always tried to help less fortunate people, and I think he was an outstanding role model to the young people he helped. He will be missed terribly."

Oliveira is survived by his wife Laurie, and two sons, Devin and Garrett.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
