The Rio Grande Valley Violent Crimes Task Force is asking the publics
assistance in finding Michael Earl McKinney.
On October 22, 1998, McKinney was charged with capital murder in connection
with the 1985 death of his business partner, John Guillory. McKinney is
accused of hiring an alleged accomplice, Robbie Bourque, to kill Guillory.
Bourque was convicted of Guillorys murder in 1998. On Oct. 27, 1998, a
federal warrant on charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued
for McKinney. He was last seen driving a red 1998 Ford Explorer, which was
later found abandoned at El Bosque Apartments on the 1600 block of W. Schunior
Street in Edinburg.
In addition to raising horses, McKinney has worked as a travel agent and in
sales and advertising. He is a fluent Spanish speaker.
