The Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic will have its annual Radiothon from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

The Radiothon will be heard on News Talk 710 KURV, La Ley 102.5 and 92.7 FM, digital 101.5 FM and Super Tejano 102.1/95.3. Hollywood star Diego Boneta will join the event.

During the Radiothon, listeners will hear the stories of children from the Rio Grande Valley who face cancer and undergo treatment through the clinic in McAllen. One of the stories to be featured is that of 2-year-old Axel Vega of Brownsville, who has been diagnosed with leukemia, which currently is in remission. The Vega family has been invited to share Axel’s story with listeners.

Vannie Cook provides treatment to children throughout the Rio Grande Valley regardless of a family’s ability to pay. This is why fundraisers, such as today’s Radiothon, are necessary.

Donations to the clinic may be made by calling (855) 571-5437 or at
