Five arrested in kidnapping
HARLINGEN — Police arrested five people Thursday accused of beating a woman and locking her in an office trailer, according to a police press release.
Harlingen residents Ashley Fonseca, 22, Nelda Ester Gonzalez, 31, Bryan David Peters, 56, Anthony Rodriguez, 34, and Pharr resident Michael Anthony Media, 28, face charges of aggravated kidnapping, a felony, and a misdemeanor assault charge.
The woman told officers that around 4:30 p.m. the five suspects assaulted her in an office trailer in the 500 block of West Monroe Avenue. She knew the men and women and identified them for the officers, the release said.
She told police the men and women locked her in the office trailer, then kicked and punched her, according to the release.
The woman was treated at a local hospital for cuts and bruises throughout her body.
The officers located four of the five suspects in an alley near the crime scene, police said. A patrol officer apprehended the fifth later in the 1000 block of West Tyler Avenue, according to the release.
A judge arraigned the five people on the charges Friday evening.
