Issue:
With the March 4 primary election over with, how soon do the candidates have to take down their political signs? If they don’t abide with the timeline, what fines, if any, do the candidates face?

What they said:
According to the City of Brownsville sign ordinance, political signs can be displayed 60 days before an election and must be taken down 10 days after the election. Candidates in run-off elections are allowed to keep them on display until the run –off election. They have 10 days after the run-off election to remove them.
The permitting department is in charge of enforcing the ordinance. It is not known if fines are issued.
