Bikers cruise onto South Padre Island

The roar of the surf on South Padre Island this week is drowned out by the roar of tens of thousands of motorcycles driving up and down the boulevard.

Some 20,000-30,000 bikers are expected on the Island for the 15th Annual Budweiser SPI BikeFest.

Participants began checking in at the town's convention center Thursday morning. Scores of vendors open their booths at 9:00 a.m. daily, displaying everything biker-from accessories to new and customized motorcycles.

All-day features include the Coastal Current Poker Run, Rhett Rotten's Wall of Death, and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Motorcycle Drill Team.

The entertainment schedule is the most extensive in the history of the event.

Friday:

6:15 p.m.-Highway Seven

8:00 p.m.-Kelly Kenning

9:30 p.m.-Blackhawk

Saturday:

10:30 a.m.-Kingpin (Blues)

12:30 p.m.-Tattoo Show Contest

1:30 p.m.-Stereo Kitsch

3:45 p.m.-Ten Times Hammer

9:00 p.m.-Caroline Pecard - The Cajun Queen - Comedian

10:00 p.m.-Bob Schneider

Sunday:

10:00 a.m.-CMA Service and Bike Blessing

11:30 a.m.-Highway Seven

1:00 p.m.-Show and Shine

1:15 p.m.-Lock N Load

3:30 p.m.-Tejano Boys

6:00 p.m.-Little Joe Y La Familia

8:00 p.m.-Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo Mazz
