Port Isabel calls for voluntary "relocation" of residents

PORT ISABEL – Port Isabel Mayor Joe E. Vega is asking residents to voluntary relocate to another location. He has called for a mandatory relocation of high profile vehicles as well.

Vega made the decision following Monday’s meeting of Cameron County's Office of Emergency Management in which it was determined that Port Isabel could be impacted by Alex.

The mayor is urging residents to make sure their property is secure and that home windows have been boarded up.
