Houston man charged in son's 2006 disappearance
HOUSTON (AP) - A Houston man serving a federal prison sentence for a weapons conviction is charged in the disappearance of his 3-year-old son.
Houston police say they've suspected Roderick Terrell Fountain in the 2006 disappearance of Kendrick Jackson from the beginning. A Harris County grand jury returned a murder indictment Thursday against the 34-year-old convict. Harris County District Attorney's spokeswoman Donna Hawkins says the case was taken before the grand jury with new evidence.
If convicted, Fountain could be sentenced to life in prison. He's now serving a 10-year sentence after police found a shotgun in his closet days after his son disappeared.
