Guerra's home is set to be auctioned
Comments 0 | Recommend 0RAYMONDVILLE - Juan Angel Guerra's home is set to be auctioned outside the Willacy County Courthouse today, according to a notice at the courthouse.
The auction for the home valued at $256,500 is expected to begin at noon. Chase Home Finance of Columbus, Ohio is foreclosing on Guerra's home; the notice was filed on Nov. 24, 2008.
This is the second time the former district attorney's home has faced foreclosure. In July, Chase Home Finance filed the foreclosure notice, according to previous reports.
Guerra made payments that stopped the auction, which was to be held in September, he said.
Last month, Guerra said he fell behind on payments because he personally funded an investigation that led to grand jury indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney, former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez, state Sen. Eddie Lucio and several local officials.
The ranch-style home at 182 Countyline Rd. in Sebastian will be auctioned at the courthouse on Hidalgo Avenue.
