Wildcats hold off Onate

Senior Kyler Brewer-Hill threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Richie Chavez for the only score of the second half and Clovis beat Onate 21-13 in a Class 5A state quarterfinal game Friday at Leon Williams Stadium.
Brewer-Hill also had a 64-yard TD pass to Chavez in the first quarter. Jordan Hill added a 52-yard pass to running back Juan Rivas in the second quarter to help give Clovis a 14-13 halftime lead.
Onate scored on David Vargas' 23-yard fumble return and Aaron Sandoval's 5-yard run with eight seconds left in the half. The Knights missed the extra point after the second score.
