Police: White supremacist gang members charged in 4 car thefts
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Four members of a white supremacist prison gang were charged with five counts of car theft on Sunday after police discovered several stolen Ford vehicles in a Motel 6 parking lot.
Auto Theft Investigators responded to a burglary of a 2008 black Ford F250 in the parking lot of the Central Boulevard motel where they discovered several other vehicles of the same make and model, according to a police report.
Alan Dobbins, 28, David Parker, 25, Christopher Cornwell, 34, and Cary Lynn Cotton, members of the Aryan Circle prison gang, were found inside of the motel with tools used for car theft and handguns, police said.
Three of the vehicles - a maroon Ford F350, blue Ford F250, and silver Ford F250 - were stolen in Corpus Christi and San Antonio.
All four were charged with five counts of theft of a motor vehicle, theft by possession of a handgun, unlawful possession of a handgun by a felon, unlawful possession of criminal instruments, and engaging in organized criminal activity, police spokesman Jimmy Manrrique said.
"They were likely going to cross the vehicles into Mexico and sell them in Matamoros," Manrrique said.
The Aryan Circle is a racist prison gang, started in the Texas prison system in 1985. The violent gang has a rivalry with the Aryan Brotherhood, according to Manrrique.
"This gang is based in the prison system, so money obtained on the outside is fed into to jail and used to keep gang members in prison financed," Manrrique said.
