Florida jailer charged with possession of marijuana
A Florida prison guard was arrested after authorities found more than 200 pounds of marijuana in his possession, authorities said.
Hector Javier Morales, 30, of Blounstown Florida, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the Cameron County DA’s Special Operations Group at a residence of the 2200 block of La Pesca St. He was later charged with one count possession of marijuana, said a CCDA press release.
After receiving information regarding the drug activity, the special operations group went to the address and after getting consent for a search, used its K-9 unit to find several large bundles weighing 200 pounds of marijuana, the release said.
Morales is employed with the Calhoun County Department of Corrections in Florida, CCDA said.
The case remains under investigation.
