Brooks County wildfire spreads
Comments 0 | Recommend 0RACHAL - A wildfire in north Hidalgo County burned about 300 acres this afternoon before firefighters got it mostly contained.
The fire, which started a little after noon is now almost 90 percent contained, said Juan Martinez, chief deputy fire marshal and assistant emergency management coordinator for Hidalgo County.
Three structures were threatened, but none were burned.
More than 70 firefighters and support personnel from 11 agencies were fighting the fire, which started along Farm-to-Market Road 755.
