Man wanted in Florida kidnapping arrested in Reynosa
A man wanted in Florida in connection with the kidnapping of a 13-year-old boy turned himself over to FBI agents after negotiating his return from Mexico for more than a week.
Vicente Ignacio Beltran-Moreno was in FBI custody this morning at 11 a.m. in Reynosa. This afternoon he was escorted by FBI agents after being arrested at the Hidalgo International Bridge.
Beltran is wanted for the kidnapping of Clay Moore on Feb. 23 in Manatee County Florida. Moore was abducted from a bus stop last month and left him tied up in the woods.
FBI officials were able to trace Beltran-Moreno to Los Mochis in Sinaloa, Mexico, after extensive interviews with fellow migrant workers.
FBI agents in Tampa contacted Beltran-Moreno by phone more than two weeks ago and he agreed to turn himself in to U.S. authorities.
The FBI arranged for him to fly from Los Mochis to Reynosa.
