County receives best practices award

Cameron County has received a County Best Practices Award from the Texas Association of Counties Leadership Foundation.
The award, which was presented Oct. 29, recognizes county initiatives that serve as models to other counties and save taxpayers money.
Cameron County, along with Hidalgo County, were honored for the Deaf Link program, a partnership with local TV stations to provide emergency alerts in American Sign Language interpreted by a Deaf Link, a private contractor.
