Gunmen kill 6 in bar in Ciudad Juarez
CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (AP) — A gang of gunmen killed six men in a bar in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez on Wednesday, prosecutors in northern Chihuahua state reported.
Another man was wounded in the attack early Wednesday at the Amadeus bar, state prosecutors' spokesman Arturo Sandoval said.
There was no immediate information on the motive for the attack, but the methods are similar to those used by drug cartels.
Also Wednesday, prosecutors reported the bodies of four men were found on a sidewalk in Ciudad Juarez. The position of the bodies suggests the victims were lined up against an adjacent wall and shot to death.
About 1,900 people have died in drug-related killings in Ciudad Juarez so far in 2009. The city across the border from El Paso, Texas has one of the highest homicide rates in the world.
