Cisneros accused of doing city work on county time
Comments 0 | Recommend 0City Commissioner Carlos Cisneros' county timesheets are being questioned as he is accused of logging hours for his job with the county when he was actually out of town and conducting city business.
A video tape showing Cisneros at his home and at local businesses, allegedly during working hours, has been aired on local news stations who report they received the tape anonymously.
Cisneros, a county employee and County Commissioner John Wood's administrative assistant, said the allegations of falsifying time sheets are "totally untrue."
Wood indicates the allegations were brought forward by County Judge Carlos Cascos' administrative assistant Cris Valadez after Cisneros failed to vote on his appointment to the Brownsville Public Utilities Board.
"That is absolutely untrue and it is unfortunate that Mr. Wood ignores the real issues here," Valadez said. "Did his employee and himself sign fraudulent timesheets?"
Wood was not immediately available to comment.
