Chamber hosts record number of seminars

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce helped sponsor 35 business seminars and workshops during fiscal year 2008-09, the most ever for the chamber during a single fiscal year. More than 267 small business owners and aspiring business owners participated in the events, co-sponsored by the University of Texas-Pan American Small Business Development Center and covering topics such as business basics, business planning, customers service and doing business with the government. Chamber chief Angela Burton says education is vital to running a successful enterprise. "We want our area entrepreneurs and small business owners to be successful," she says. "What a business owner didn’t know yesterday might help him or her through the challenges of tomorrow." The chamber’s seminar schedule for fiscal year 2009-10 can be found at www.brownsvillechamber.com
