January a busy month for Border Patrol drug siezures
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EDINBURG - Border Patrol agents have confiscated more than 16 tons of marijuana in the Rio Grande Valley sector, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection release.
On Jan. 19, agents near La Rosita seized 6,183 pounds; on Jan. 20, 9,145 pounds were seized at the Falfurrias checkpoint and 1,949 pounds were confiscated on Jan. 24 at the Sarita checkpoint.
Other busts include 680 pounds near the Brownsville Ship Channel, 1,024 pounds near Palmview, 976 pounds near Progreso and 662 pounds in Garceno. All these busts were made on Friday, Jan. 23.
